The Stage

A box holds an LED light inside and has one or many slots in its lid to hold acrylic lens designs on top. Since the box displays the designs, we call the box a stage.

Stages come in different sizes, and materials.

Our default material for kits is pre-finished Cherry ply. It has a wood core (not MDF) and a solid Cherry veneer on both faces of the wood sheet.

Our default material for our finished art is pre-finished solid Cherry wood.

Other materials are available – some at an additional premium, while some may be an even swap.

Our current offering is based on increments of our medium size stage box that we call Modest. The Modest stage is a square box that measures just over 3 inches wide x 1 inches tall.

Larger boxes can be created by connecting each of the Modest stages together side by side.

• Connecting two Modest stages together can create a Large stage (6 inches wide)
• Connecting three Modest stages together can create a Grandeur stage (9 inches wide).
• Large and Grandeur size lids are available to complete the conversion that also allows wider lenses to be fit on top of the box. 

Painting the lenses adds depth and definition. Color helps each element stand out instead of blending into the other lenses when left clear.
