1. Core Concept

Every Scene Night Light begins with a single Modest stage.
Additional stages can be connected together to create larger displays.

Stage sizes are created by connecting Modest stage bases together.

All stages use the same Modest platform lid and Modest stage base components.

Larger stages are created using connectors and larger toppers, not larger boxes.

This keeps the system modular and expandable.

2. Basic Night Light Components

A complete Basic Scene Night Light includes:

  • 1 wooden Modest stage base
  • 1 acrylic Modest platform lid
  • 1 Backdrop acrylic lens
  • 4 lid topper-to-platform rivet connectors
  • 1 USB-C LED light with adapter
  •  Night Light Assembly Instructions

These components form the foundation for all stage sizes.

3. Lid Styles

Two lid styles are available.

Scene Lid (Default)

Designed for layered scenes.

Includes:

  • 1 wooden Modest Scene lid topper
  • 3 acrylic Accent lenses

Multiple slots allow lenses to be layered to create depth.

Simplicity Lid

Designed for a single focal design.

Includes:

  • 1 wooden Modest Simplicity lid topper

This lid holds one acrylic lens only.

4. Product Formats

The same components can be offered in different ways depending on how the customer wants to experience the project.

Finished Night Light

Fully assembled and hand painted.

DIY Night Light Kit

Includes all night light components plus:

  • Kit Assembly Instructions

Customers complete the assembly and painting at home.

Studio Session

Includes everything in the DIY Kit plus:

  • In-person instruction
  • Sandpaper and glue
  • Acrylic paints, brushes, and markers (participants keep these supplies)
  • Optional add-ons

5. Expansion System

Additional components allow the night light to grow from Modest → Large → Grandeur.

These options assume the customer already owns one Modest night light.

6. Creating a Large Stage

A Large stage is created by connecting two Modest stage bases.

Additional parts required:

  • 1 additional Modest stage base
  • 1 additional Modest platform lid
  • 1 Large wooden topper (Scene or Simplicity)
  • 4 lid topper-to-platform connectors
  • 2 base-to-base connectors

Optional:

  • 1 additional Modest lid topper

This allows the stages to be used either as:

  • two separate Modest displays, or
  • one Large connected display

7. Creating a Grandeur Stage

A Grandeur stage is created by connecting three Modest stage bases.

Additional parts required:

  • 2 additional Modest stage bases
  • 2 additional Modest platform lids
  • 1 Grandeur wooden topper (Scene or Simplicity)
  • 8 lid topper-to-platform connectors
  • 4 base-to-base connectors

Optional:

  • 2 additional Modest lid toppers

This allows the stages to be used either as:

  • three separate Modest displays, or
  • one Grandeur connected display
